The ‘90s ‘Soons began a weekly Zoom call back in April 2020 and have maintained it more or less for the last year. Doug Roberts ’96 reports, “There are usually 4-8 of us, but we've had up to 14 on some calls. It has been a great outlet for connecting with our best friends while we've been locked in our homes….the highlight of my week throughout this pandemic.”
Outgoing Notes editor John Whelchel ‘15 writes, “I’ve been living in NYC for the past two years with my now fiancée, hunkered down predominantly. I develop software for Asana, a SaaS company that sells work management tools. Yacob Yonas ’15 also works there, and we’re looking forward to reuniting back at the office at some point soon. I'm hoping to rejoin choirs in the NYC area when things open up in the fall. When I’m not running daily on the East River, I’m often found playing weekly online bridge with a bunch of other 20-something college buds in a long-term bid to go pro as octogenarians.”
When I lived in NYC in the 90s I sang for the New York Choral Society. They are a great group with a long tradition and concerts in top venues. I would still be doing it now if I lived in NYC. I am not sure that I would still fit in my tuxedo.
